November 20, 2016 Morning Worship
The sweat, fragrant aromas of food brought in preparations for today’s Community Thanksgiving Pot Luck couldn’t keep members and guest from gathering together for worship, prayers and learning from the Bible.
Today’s service started with Deacon Betty Jeffries reading Psalm 116 and saying a prayer. Worship Leader Jacob Hatcher introduced today’s first song and being relativity new to Vine Street Baptist, but encouraged everyone to sing along when they felt comfortable with the easy chorus and verses.
- Trading My Sorrows
- Blessed be Your Name
A time of fellowship was given so guests could be welcomed, while hugs and hand shakes were given to one another. Senior Pastor Spencer Harmon returned to the platform and gave a few announcements
- Community Thanksgiving Potluck
- Advent Series begins next week
- 2017 Budget Proposal sheets are available
- Thanks to volunteers who setup the Mother’s Room
- VSBC Christmas Families outreach
- Pastoral concerns and prayer
While the offering was collected, Jacob talked about the power of the words in the next song, then Jaime Hatcher led the congregation in the next songs before Josh Bertch read today’s sermon scripture.
- A Mighty Fortress is Our God (a Capella)
- Have Thine Own Way, Lord
